Is proudly borne by unique custom creations coming out of the Six String Garage in Toronto’s Kensington Market.
As the name ‘custom shop’ implies, anything is possible. However there are essentially three types of Garageland guitars:
Garageland “”Hot Rod” :
These guitars are not built here per se. The Hot Rods are based on existing guitars – First, a suitable donor guitar is located (old Kay, Harmony, and the likes are favorites here). It will typically be something that is old and full of mojo, but somehow lacking- be it the condition or missing parts, a high potential guitar that is just not all it can be. The Hot Rod will be built on the skeleton of the donor.
Then we ‘go to town’ fixing and re-working whatever is necessary – paint, frets, neck set, electronics, adding custom details and improvements wherever inspiration strikes. Sometimes it’s just a matter of function and some styling touches, sometimes the guitar is so profoundly changed that the original is hardly recognizable. Typically they are offered for sale as completed projects but if you have something special in mind don’t hesitate to contact the shop to discuss your ideas.
Garageland ” Custom ” :
The custom is typically assembled out of pre fabricated parts – neck, body, pickups, etc. It can be a bone-stock clone or it can include custom features such as paint options, unusual hardware configuration, structural modifications or custom made components. It is a great way to have a guitar that you can really feel is your own. It can be as traditional or as heavily customized as you wish.
Garageland ” Tailor Made ” :
A Tailor Made Garageland guitar is a 100% hand built guitar built to customer’s specifications. It can be based on an existing design or it can be something completely new. (alomst) Anything is possible.

Pricing:
Because each Garageland guitar is unique, it is almost impossible to give a set price. Each project must be estimated and quoted individually. The following are ballpark figures and are meant as guidelines only.
Hot Rod $800 +up
Custom $1,500 +up
Taylor-Made $2,500 +up
